H2S Scavenger
H2S is a gas that should not be present in any fuel except LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) under normal atmospheric conditions. However, some process units may break down heavier sulfur-containing molecules into smaller molecules like H2S and mercaptans. H2S is toxic and has an unpleasant odor. Refineries often aim to remove H2S from cracked streams used in fuel blending, preferring chemical solutions in cases of process upsets. Additives play a crucial role when fuel contains mercaptans that remain after the hydrofining process. Cestoil's H2S scavenger effectively eliminates hydrogen sulfide and certain mercaptans from hydrocarbon streams. The formulation reacts with H2S to produce a stable, water-soluble product that can be easily removed from the system.
Mercaptan Scavenger
Cestoil's mercaptan scavenger targets the removal of mercaptans from hydrocarbon streams. Our specially formulated solution reacts with various mercaptans to create heat-stable, oil-soluble products. This additive treatment not only eliminates the characteristic odor of mercaptans but also helps the fuel meet quality standards, such as passing the doctor test.
